Faced with acres of pickers of all persuasions flailing away for your attention all day and into the night can cause a nervous condition doctor people call Fest-itis, commonly known as “pickin’ overload.” But now, there is a solution. You don’t need a prescription. It goes down easy. And you don’t have to go far to get it. It’s called MerleFest on the Road, and the theory is to administer the cure in small doses to get you used to the main event.

The local show will be in the newly created Van Dyke Performance space in the Greensboro Cultural Center. We went there for it's opening performance and was very pleasantly surprised.

The cast this time around is comprised of Mark Bumgarner, Locust Honey String Band and Jonathan Byrd & the Pickup Cowboys.
